Guided Veterans Ice Fishing Tournament

January 11-13, 2023

Join us for a weekend Getaway of fun, fishing and camaraderie! It’s our 2^nd Annual Guided Ice Fishing Tournament on Leech Lake, Minnesota’s third largest lake in Walker, MN.  This event, weather permitting, will take place on Thursday, January 12^th, from 8:00-5:00 pm. 

This is a guided fishing tournament on Leech Lake.  We will provide fish houses, bait and all meals!  All participants must be a Veteran and registered through Camp Bliss.  First time Veterans will be considered first.  There are 21 available spots for veterans that are first-come-first-serve, we will have a waiting list.  We have limited fishing supplies, so please bring your favorite fishing rod or tip-up pole, if you don’t have one we will supply one.

$500 in prize money will be awarded!  Wednesday night check-in, Thursday fishing, awards and bonfire and Friday breakfast in our beautiful Lodge setting on three lakes!

Cost is $75.00 per person for the weekend and includes lodging and meals.

We are excited to have you join us for a weekend of fishing and rejuvenation in our beautiful up north setting!  This retreat welcomes anyone with any type of disability.       

The total cost for the weekend is $75, if you bring your own the PCA, there’s an additional charge of $50, and the PCA will need to register separately for this retreat.

This retreat includes: lodging, all meals, beverages and fishing supplies.

What to bring: weather appropriate clothing, medications, blanket, pillow, towels, personal water bottle and anything else you will need for the weekend.  This event is weather permitting, in order to fish you must have your fishing license.

If you are currently a consumer of Independent Lifestyles, transportation to and from Camp Bliss is offered from our Sauk Rapids location for an additional charge of $20.  Otherwise you are responsible for your own transportation.

Cost is $75.00 per person for the weekend and includes lodging and meals.

Veterans welcome to our annual Turkey Hunt!  All hunters are required to have a valid Minnesota turkey license and be partnered with a volunteer.  You will stay at Camp Bliss where all your lodging and meals are provided. We WILL NOT be charging a registration fees for Veteran getaways for the next two years as we have secured funding from the MDVA. You may come up to two retreats per year!  We will now be allowed to get reimbursement for Spouses, children, and active-duty service members!

Because there’s not a registration fee, you will be required to submit your DD214 (Member 4) and Driver’s license or state ID.  If a spouse is attending and has a different last name, you will be required to show proof of marriage before you are considered “registered.”  Once you are committed to attending your retreat, there are limited spots for each one and if you do not show up, that is a Veteran’s spot that you have eliminated.

All our Getaways & Retreats are alcohol free.
