A Team Promoting Independence and Choices for People with Disabilities, their Families, and Community.

Our mission is that Veterans and all people with disabilities need a healthy place to heal, connect, and be in nature. Their wellness, vitality, and ability to function and cope become significantly enhanced with these opportunities. Independent Lifestyles, Inc., a non-profit organization incorporated in 1997 dared to dream this dream. This mission led them to open a one of a kind retreat center in Walker, MN and the dream is called Camp Bliss.

Imagine 48 acres of peaceful pines and hardwood trees surrounded by three lakes. Camp Bliss offers retreats to Veterans, couples, their families, and people with disabilities throughout the year. We offer a wide range of topics from coping with Post traumatic stress disorder to socialization and wellness. Additionally, to keep retreats for them at low or no cost, Camp Bliss is available to the public for private rentals, crafting, reunions, weddings, etc. The Lodge sleeps 25 people. The Bliss House sleeps 18. The Cabin sleeps 4 people. Camp Bliss also offers a game room, fish cleaning, kayaks and canoes, basketball, campfire rings and unbeatable serenity.

Imagine having an incredible event or vacation in one of the most unique and amazing settings in Minnesota.  As a result you’ll have the benefit of knowing that your support goes to improving the lives of the Veterans and all who experience disability. Imagine no more. Come up north and find your Bliss.
